Decorative painting and restoration

Apart from wallpapering and painting, I do most of the decorative painting in both old and new houses and   use traditional materials and methods as far as possible. I usually mix my colors myself and shade on the spot to get the right shade as possible and in that way also save on material consumption.

Sometimes the customer has an idea that I realize and sometimes I need to make suggestions about what could be suitable, and sometimes the house gets to rule.

If it is a question of an  old house, proceed carefully. Ceilings, walls and floors can hide some treasures and one should always be careful at the beginning of a renovation project when it comes to old houses! Unfortunately, many of the old interiors have been lost in overly harsh renovations when surface materials were wildly ripped out without understanding what might be underneath and not having time to notice the details. But there is still a lot left and if I find fragments I can make a completely new pattern inspired by them.

I like to restore and decorate in wholes; For example. from repairing or removing broken tension cardboard, examining paint and wallpaper layers to putting up new cardboard and painting or wallpapering. In this way, I get a truer picture and deeper understanding of what it might have looked like.

I flag to preserve as much of the original as possible for the following generations to enjoy!
